Process Summary
All of the contractors listed can provide a thorough whole-house assessment within the Home Performance with ENERGY STAR framework. Call each for a quote of their fees. Southface suggests that you contact one in whose area of expertise your home’s problems most likely fall, so that this contractor can provide more detailed advice on the improvement of that area. For example, if you know your house is particularly drafty and you are already interested in adding more insulation, an insulation and air sealing contractor may be most appropriate. If you know your furnace or air conditioner is old and probably needs to be replaced, a heating and cooling contractor may be most appropriate.
